Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 13, 2026
Let's Offroad Together ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service").
Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information to provide and improve the Service:
- Account Data — When you create an account via Firebase Authentication, we collect your name, email address, and profile photo. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the profile information you authorize.
- Emergency Contact Information — You may optionally provide an emergency contact name, phone number, and relationship. This information is stored securely and can be made private so that only drive organizers may view it during active drives.
- Vehicle Information — Details about your off-road vehicles that you choose to add to your profile, including year, make, model, specifications, and modifications.
- Location Data — With your permission, we collect precise location data to display trails, drive routes, meeting points, and nearby points of interest. During active drives, continuous GPS coordinates, elevation, and distance may be recorded for trail tracking and convoy features. Your city and state may be derived from your location through reverse geocoding.
- Photos and Camera — With your permission, we access your camera and photo library so you can upload profile pictures, vehicle photos, and drive or event photos. Uploaded photos are stored in Firebase Cloud Storage.
- Messages and User Content — Text messages, images, and locations shared through in-app messaging (drive chats, club chats, and direct messages) are stored in our database. Content you create such as drive descriptions, event descriptions, club descriptions, reviews, and trip reports is also stored.
- Push Notification Tokens — When you enable push notifications, we store your device token (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) linked to your account to deliver notifications about drives, events, messages, and club activity.
- Purchase and Subscription Data — If you subscribe to a paid tier (Premium, Trail Leader, or Club Pro), we store your subscription status and expiration date. Purchase transactions are processed by Apple (via In-App Purchase) and managed through RevenueCat, which links your subscription to your user account.
- Usage Data — We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the Service is used, including screen views, user engagement, and interaction events. This may include device type, operating system, and app version.
- Diagnostics — Firebase Crashlytics collects crash reports and error logs linked to your user ID to help us diagnose and fix issues. Crashlytics is disabled in debug builds.
- Device Identifiers — With your consent (via App Tracking Transparency on iOS), we may collect your Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) for personalized advertising through Google AdMob.
How We Use Your Information
- Provide core app functionality, including drive creation, route mapping, trail recording, and user profiles.
- Power community features such as clubs, group drives, events, and messaging.
- Generate AI-assisted content (see "AI Content Generation" below).
- Send push notifications about drives, events, messages, and club activity you have opted into.
- Maintain safety and security of the Service and its users, including emergency contact visibility during drives.
- Manage subscriptions and deliver paid features.
- Analyze usage patterns and crash reports to improve performance and reliability.
- Display advertisements to support the free tier of the Service.
AI Content Generation
The Service offers optional AI-powered features to help you create drive descriptions, event descriptions, and club descriptions. When you use these features, the text you provide (such as a title or brief description) is sent to Google's Gemini AI service via Firebase AI for processing. We do not send your personal account information, location data, or other profile details to the AI service — only the content you explicitly submit for generation. Google's use of this data is governed by their own privacy policy.
Advertising
We display ads through Google AdMob to support the free tier of the Service. AdMob may use device identifiers (including your IDFA on iOS) and usage data to serve personalized advertisements. Paid subscribers do not see ads.
- On iOS, we request your permission via App Tracking Transparency (ATT) before collecting your Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) for personalized ads.
- We use Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to present a consent dialog and respect your ad-personalization preferences on all platforms.
- You may opt out of personalized ads at any time through your device settings or the in-app consent dialog.
Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with the following third-party providers, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Storage, Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging, Cloud Functions, App Check)
- Firebase AI / Google Gemini (AI-assisted content generation)
- Google Maps & Google Places (route display, location services, and address search)
- Google AdMob (advertising)
- RevenueCat (subscription management via Apple In-App Purchase)
- Apple Sign-In & Google Sign-In (authentication)
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with the third-party service providers listed above, and only to the extent necessary to operate and improve the Service. Certain profile information (such as your name, profile photo, and vehicle details) is visible to other users as part of the community features. You can control your profile visibility in your settings. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your data only for as long as necessary to provide the Service and fulfill the purposes described in this policy. You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data from our active systems, including your profile, vehicles, emergency contacts, and push notification tokens. Some information may be retained in backups for a limited period or as required by law. Messages you sent in group conversations may persist in anonymized form.
Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings or the in-app consent dialog.
- Withdraw consent for location tracking or push notifications through your device settings at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the email address below.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will notify you by updating the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, through an in-app notification or app update. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
